From where it began

Gwyn Choles has been in private practice as an Educational Psychologist and Psychotherapist for 30 years working with clients of all ages with a variety of difficulties.

She obtained her undergraduate training and Honours Degree in Psychology through Unisa and then completed the Masters in Educational Psychology degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1996. Practical clinical experience was gained at the Tara H Moross hospital in the child, adolescent and eating disorders Units.

She has been in Private Practice on the east Rand since 1998 seeing a wide variety of children, adolescents, adults in individual, couple and family therapies. She provides supervision to colleagues and participates in workshops on a range of topics. She works with a wide range of schools receiving referrals for assessments and therapy.

She has been a member of the Johannesburg Association of Child Psychotherapists (JACP) for an extended period of time offering group supervision. She is currently on the committee of the Institute of Psychodynamic Psychotherapies (IPCP) and is a member of the South African Confederation of Psychotherapists (SAPC). Community involvement at Khanya Family Life center in Katlehong has been an enriching and rewarding experience.
